Environmental Impact Assessment of the offshore wind farms projects (part 1)

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is one of the key steps in development of the offshore wind farms projects. At this stage, scope of the influenece on the envirnment and the environmental preconditions of the project develpment are defined on the basis of marine surveys as well as series of interdisciplinary studies and analyzes.
Seminar organized on 28.11.2013 was the first of the series dedicated to environmental impact assessment of the offshore wind farms. Next seminar is planned in March 2014.
Program of the conducted seminar included 3 sessions of lectures:
1. Environmental surveys preceding development of the offshore wind projects - analysis of the requirements in different countries- Juliusz Gajewski, Marine Institute in Gdansk
2. Environmental impact assessment of offshore wind farms - UK experience- Jamie McMahon, RPS Energy (UK)
3. Impact assessment of offshore wind famrs on the offshore and onshore landscape and influence on the location process- Radek Chanas, Pegasus Group (UK)
